This Heat - After the Heat

Grabbed this off Oink a couple of days ago; unfortunately couldn't find too much information on the release other than it being a compilation of solo tracks from all three members, guessing from early-mid 80s. (Came unlabeled though, so I'm not sure who recorded what). This should definitely be of interest to anyone who's as big a fanboy of this band as myself, as far as I can tell all of these are OOP and whichever Hayward's tracks are do not appear on the Camberwell Now records.

Having never heard of it, I googled After the Heat and found this explanation from a user atRYM:

Though the first eleven tracks are misleadingly called "unreleased demos". They are the Gareth Williams tracks.
There are two from Charles Hayward's Les Batteries collaboration...
And three from Charles Bullen's Life Tones that have a dub reggae Latin rock thing going on.

I'm listening to it right now, and it is great.

Good god man, thanks. Tracks I've never heard from a band I've been enthusiastic about for a long time...

So it seems that we have been ditched by our formerly fearless leader...since we are (apparently) little bastards. So be it. There's plenty of us here with some fucked up music collections. Who will step up to keep eclectic sendspacing alive? To get the ball rolling...I nominate...THE MINOTAUR. That's right. I went there. The third person:

1 ) First up is a newer band. Their MySpace has like...no plays (just interesting considering they played with SLINT in NYC and Chicago among other places)...but all Minnow's members are fixtures in Louisville. This band is a great unit. I loved watching them play. Punk fucking rock...with a Stratocaster playing some wacky, bell-like, rhythm heavy punk rock riffs...well...you know...like post-punk...as played by straight up punk. Enjoy. It was free:

2 ) This is classified on my computer as jazz...but it's not really that. I think it's something that Col. Panic would really enjoy. I can tell you that there's a sadness to this music that I just can't put my finger on. There is also an Indian influence on this record...sitar type stuff. A wonderful band...a really pretty piece of music:

6 ) Sorry Ed...I've been real busy working on an album all summer...I'm more pressed for time than ever. The school year will bring many bored...depressing as fuck days...when I sit in my room/closet pretending to be a room...stoned off my ass for maybe a whole month...answering requests that during the summer are thwarted by me lollygagging around the suburbs and the city...limp wrists and skipping and the whole sha-bang...perhaps this will tide you over in the meantime.

(This is my favorite Nirvana bootleg. It's a pretty common find, but for some reason I just love the way it sounds. Cobain probably wasn't even into it anymore, but Pat Smear held things together for my ear. The live "stadium" cello really does it for me [go figure]. He had a little over a month to live when this was recorded):

7 ) Bon voyage, Hat Party. You taught me so much. It was a wonderful time while it lasted.

For fans of The Chameleons UK, Mission of Burma, New Order, Blonde Redhead, Rodan.

A truly great band. Skronk and Steve V....take note of this album...but if you didn't see them live, you didn't hear shit (unfortunately). By the time the band was finished, they were pretty motherfucking good. My favorite tracks on this record are "Overexposure," "Time Limit," and "Bullet Train". Enjoy:
