12Burger Joint makes a damn fine burger.
Speaking of good burger joints in fancy hotels, try Rare. It's at 303 Lexington.
They serve some fancypants burgers (with the customary high Manhattan price tag), but it's still a pretty good eat.

14Hell yeah! Had my first Corner Bistro burger last week. Absolutely delicious. I wish I knew how they get every slice of their bacon perfect.

16I would check out two places:
NY Burger Company - 6th avenue near like 21st? Very, very good. I've only eaten their veggie-burgers but their regular shit looks bomb as whoa.
Bar Toto - 6th avenue at 11th street in Brooklyn. All their food is amazing. My friend told me they have the best burger she's ever tasted.
check it.

Corner Bistro is great, but I really love the burgers (with mozzarella and a Newcastle) at Half King , and not just because I lived around the corner from it for 3 years.

18I would say Hope & Anchor in Red Hook Brooklyn has the best burgers in town.
After that either Pauls or Corner Bistro.

19Honestly, the best burger I've had so far, and better than most locales, has been the burger at Boat Basin. Yep, surprised me too. No frills, no pretentious best burger claims or Kobe beef yada, just off a grill cookout style. So if all the douchebaggery there doesn't turn you off, worth a try--unless it was just a good night.

Gah! We walked right by H&A this weekend, but we were in Red Hook specifically to sample the wares of all the Central and South American food vendors at the soccer fields.
We'll have to go back to try the H&A burgers.
