Apologies. I am in the throes of acute kitty (no pun intended) withdrawal and have been for the past month. The other night there was a kitty in the parking lot and I went chasing after it like a crazy person, making little desperate mewing and "come hither" noises. I think that my biological clock was set to "procure feline minions by 30," rather than "reproduce by 30."

16so the kitten is still in hiding mode under the sofa. she does sneak out to eat the food I left for her, and has been doing so, regularly. last night, I was trying to figure out how to get the kitten to warm up to me.
and then I remembered: "oh yeah. string."
the kitten and I played "string" for TWO HOURS. she would get close to the edge (yes) of the sofa and then scamper back underneath. kittens are bonkers for string.
Even though there aren't many places to hide, the kitten has one where I can't see her. I can't find the kitten now. again!

Feed her treats from the palm of your hand. She will eat and then scamper away when the food is done. But she will learn to trust you.
Cats & kittens can not resist salmon cream cheese.
