I’m NOT bitter. I’m on my period and this outfit makes me look fat and I just broke a nail. Seriously, I was kind of an ugly duckling as a teenager, and it’s just weird how differently people respond to me now that I’ve lost some weight and got some cool clothes. It’s taught me that, yeah, looks matter and not just if you’re trying to get laid.

You’re right about it being a two way street. I don’t have a whole lot of respect for women’s whose principle source of validation is the fact that what they’ve got going on physically gives guys boners. Nor do I have a whole lot of respect for guys who get some cheap feeling of empowerment from electing which female musicians are hot on their message board. But most of all, I want women musicians to feel like people would listen to their music even if you wouldn’t post pictures on them on the “Sexiest Women in Rock Thread.” Is that fair?

I really like Debbie Harry's voice and wouldn't care if she was not "hot". But she is, so that's a bonus.
