Slint reunion in Chicago

I impulsively bought tickets for the Park West show instead of the Metro show. I don't know why, except that I have been to Park West only once before.

Also, the interweb put me in the "Dance" seating section (?!). I am picturing old couples ballroom dancing to Slint as they would to Lawrence Welk's band. I am firmly committed that this is how it will be.

How were they?

I nearly bought tickets but didn't bother. The price was steep, it's gonna be a madhouse, and the Slint offspring I've seen in the years since have been enjoyable, but not a total knockout. I figure the likelihood of this band taking a decade off & coming back to be as great as, say, The Ex or something is pretty unlikely.

Were they as great as The Ex?

Maybe you can comfort yourself with this tidbit, the Metro show tickets were actually $1 more per ticket than the Park West shows ($27.50 vs. $26.50).
