Agreed, but by that same token I thought Roxy got better after he left as well. Country Life and Siren are better than both the Eno-Roxy records.


I like Country Life and Siren quite a bit, but the first two (both with Eno) are at least as good if not better. I think the debut album might be their best.

Uh, Glenn Branca anyone? He was in the Static and Theoretical Girls before he starting doing his thing.

I'll definitely agree with Brian Eno's solo work being better than Roxy Music.

How about if a guy/gal's solo shit is ON PAR with their former/other band's? Like John Cale for example, as well as one Louis Reed.

Oh yeah, Jim O'Rourke's "Insignificance" and a lot of his solo stuff is better than Sonic Youth (which may not count since he was more of a hired gun) and even Brise-Glace, no matter how much I really do love Brise-Glace.
