totally ok around here (noble & augusta)... just a ton of rain. not many trees in our neighborhood to get blown over, though i'm betting that eckhart park took some damage. amazed that the abandoned church on the corner has yet to lose its roof &/or get torched by lightning.
the first wave was when i was at work down on the south side. our windows are about twelve feet above us as they were worried about random bullets coming in when the place was built (1/4 block from what used to be the taylor projects).... couldn't even see the storms...
driving home up ashland was a drag.

32I'm in Central IL and St. Louis this week, and today I was in Galesburg. We just arrived right after what looked like a freakin tornado hit.
There were at least two houses crushed by trees, and another which I think just demolished itself in the insane wind.

33I was off today so my friend and I started drinking this morning and were druuuunk by 4 and decided to go get food. we walked through the pouring rain and got on the bus. while riding, a tree suddenly fell right across Kimball right in front of us and smashed a parked car. It was so exciting!

We just drove up Kimball and had to turn around because that fucking tree, I blame you. God was obviously trying to get you and missed.

Take a ride down the blvd from western to the square and yes it looks fucking crazy. Rarely does my jaw drop at the sight of something, but all of the massive trees on both sides of the street just splintered in half on top of cars and lawns really blew me away, no pun intended. Some of these trees must have had trunks about three or four feet around but they looked like they were just snapped like twigs. What was the wind like, four thousand miles an hour?

Right before we got on the bus my friend said "crazy things always happen to me on chicago buses." maybe god was trying to protect us from eating at Ghareeb Nawaz.

37No power from 6:30 to 11:30 in my apartment last night. I was having phantom electronic limb problems. I would be sitting on the couch playing guitar and think " I'll check my email.. wait, no." or "I want to go play organ... wait, no." I was sitting in the dark and was still thinking about doing things that needed electricity to be done.
What really got me was how quiet it was. I could hear multiple conversations floating down from other apartments in the building. I could hear every word.
Fans and AC are fucking loud!

39No power from 3.30PM on. Dunno about now, as I am at work.
Balls-out rain and wind up north for many hours. Very good storm. A-.
I got caught in the first rush of it on the way home. I was on Lake Shore Drive for about .5mi before I could not see the road and had to braille my way off.

40Came into work this morning and water is dripping from the ceiling in my office.
I've seen the bridges burning in the night.
