Great name. I'd pay to see that band.

No way... Gladys Knight is a restauranteur? I wonder if any of the "Pips" are working there.

Actually, I always wondered what a "pip" is, exactly. When I Wikipedia'd the word, it came up with a shit-ton of definitions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pip

I like this one:
http://en.wikipedia.org wrote:Birds

* Pip, a disease of birds, characterized by a thick mucous discharge that forms a crust in the mouth and throat
* Internal Pip happens toward the end of incubation a of a developing chick. This is a critical stage where the chick must force through the internal membrane that separates the developing chick from the 'airsac' end. This normally happens 36-72 hours before hatch and can last for several hours. External pip is when the chick begins the task of pipping around the inside of the shell and this normally takes the remaining 24-72 hours of the incubation period

Yeah, check out Wax 'n' Facts, fo SHO. If you're interested in rare and used vinyl, that place has a ton of it. Right next door to that is a used bookstore that has a bunch of used, cheap books in good condition.

Also, check out the Book Nook at the intersection of N. Druid Hills Road and Clairmont Road.

I just m oved here, I'm only familiar with those attractions as of yet.

Dunno about your musical taste so pardon me for presuming, but I am inordinately fond of Zoroaster, DropSonic, and a few other local bands I can't think of just now. I would recommend Zoroaster to anyone who likes Teh Heavy, and DropSonic sounds to me like Led Zeppelin fronted by Thom Yorke, in the best possible way. In the only good possible way, actually. I think their live show outshines their recorded output so far... someone should do something about that...

Oh, yeah, I used to be in this band and now I still play with them from time to time. I also play with this band.

I'll try to remember to PM you the next time my band plays in the ATL and put you on the list. We can't let the Chicago PRF's have all the face-to-face fun. Also, I would like to be the first to propose an Atlanta Pho Crawl....

do not jaywalk, you can get arrested for it, I'm serious. that place has been known for arresting jaywalkers.

maybe bust out some nelly, while you role in?

suga' suga' coco what! give it to me now, light it up take a puff pass it to me now, I'm going down down baby....

Nah People do nothing but jaywalk here nobody ever gets arrested for that, they'd have to arrest every perosn walking aound downtown.
As for what to do, Get the fuck out of Buckhead!!!! there is nothing to do there except for fantasyland records on peachtree st. Even so there are much better record stores. Find your way to ponce de leon and go south from there lots of good restaurants, bars etc.. don't go downtown there ain't shit to do there especially after dark, but get harassed by our excessively aggresive homeless population. Oh don't forget full moon records on mclendon ave in candler park, it may be smaller than Wax and Facts but I've bought more awesome records there. Also try Wuxtry records which is in Decatur. Finally it's a bit of a drive but if you are here on a friday or saturday the low yo yo stuff warehouse is awesome

It used to be in athens and now they operate out of a warehouse it's only open from 12-6 on friday or saturday unfortunately.
Hope that helps

Oh shit almost forgot you should go visit Gavin, one of the more interesting members of the Atlanta DIY scene. He also has a warehouse record store that's only open on saturdays, alhtough his selection of records is limited pretty much to punk/hardcore
