He's got some new band called Rriiccee with Eric Erlandson from Hole.
Hole was sometimes pretty good. Except they always had the wrong bridge. Someone knew how to write a bar, though. Maybe Erlandson?
It seems like Gallo is trying to make "beautiful" music, which is a fairly pussy objective. Playing soft and long while singing in falsetto is generally weak shit. But to present your weak shit to the public is sometimes a different thing. Like how men wearing women's clothes is either gay or not gay at all.
What I've heard of his music I can't get behind because it doesn't touch me at all. But there's an underlying commitment to what he does and what he believes in, which is.

32Don't you see that just by writing about him you're stoking the self-important NYC asshole's ego (and I'm from NYC, there ARE assholes, and you CAN tune them out)?
Seriously, if you just ignore him, he'll go away!
And I guess that makes this post in itself a bit silly, but I'm sick of people a) Talking about him like he is remotely relevant and not a rich, self-promoting scenester, or b) Like he's absolutely terrible and they hate and hate and hate him.
Honestly, I find there's no reason why anyone should even give two shits about him.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I bet he couldn't beat Ice-T in an acting battle either.

Hallelujah!
Yes, he is a rich self-promoting asshole. A pretentious hipster version of Paris Hilton using his connections and weath to perpetuate his ruse.

38NC, although I found When a bit disappointing. The Music For Film record is good though, much more like what I wanted (having liked the music in Buffalo 66).
I find his persona amusing wether it is genuine or invented.

He's not rich. That seems to be a common misconception about him.
Where would he have got his money from? He has had a few minor film roles. His two self-funded films probably made enough to live on but nothing ridiculous. I doubt his records have sold many copies. He sold some paintings in the 80s and did some modelling for Calvin Klein. He probably bought a house from that money but there's no way it was enough to retire on. His parents were working class immigrants.
CRAP he might be. Rich he ain't.
Edit - On hindsight, he appears to have quite a lot of money from somewhere.

I like his films too.
Yes. I just came across what appears to be a rare interview where he is being fairly candid and sincere. I like a lot of his work and it's nice to finally see him drop the bullshit for a change.
My apologies if this has been linked elsewhere. I'm lazy.
