Russ, I hear you. That third option is absolutely essential. It's the demarcation between the unwashed and the true players. Not that I count myself a veteran here. Anyway, could you set it up like a poll, but people have to fill in numbers 1,2,3 and submit? They could be timed so that the threads do not spin wildly out of control but give people enough time to log on and vote when they get a chance. The subject line could maybe (or maybe not) give a hint as to the inter-connectedness of the options, therefore giving clues to the "right" answer (for those who want to be right).

Possible, she is?

The dilemma is fitting this into the current paradigm, namely these forums.


Yah. I picture two new "post a reply" forms: one for adding a new rank, one for adding commentary on an existing rank. The first form, for new ranks, has three additional text boxes (one per rank) (where the "add a poll" stuff currently is, below the main text field?), each of which has its own text field (for explanations).

For existing ranks, the text boxes from the first form are replaced by pull-down menus listing the three ranks already created. Otherwise the text fields are the same for both forms.

I don't know about displaying the results, like a running total... except maybe a pop-up window that lists all... uh... six options and the current percentage of each?

Do this make sense? The ranking form stuff could only show up when you're in the "rank" category...

This may, initially, be a bit complicated, but it seems like it would be true to the game.

Post the three subjects under topic. Make a poll with 6 options (1,2,3...1,3,2...2,1,3...2,3,1...etc.) so that every ranking option is available(6 total). Then, if you are inclined, post your reasons as a reply. Could this work?
