Advice : Neurosis (the band)

1
I own no albums by Neurosis and was hoping to get a nice balanced glut of pointers / advice on where i should start and why.

The doomier more metal end of my musical preferences lies with the likes of Sleep, High On Fire, Slayer, Sunn 0))), etc etc. So a bit of pulsating doom and gloom with a bit of moster speed riffing if required.

So can anyone be kind to me?

Thanks very much

You're a shit DM and i want my pizza money back.

The reality is, you cannot go wrong. Anyone of their albums would be a great starting point, but that's a lame answer to your sincere question. I'll do my best to help guide you:

The first thing you have to decide is whether you want to start with the over the top, crushing post nuclear attack sound, or the more mesmerizing, mind blowing, waves of mutilation..

If you want the crazy stuff, I'd start with "Souls At Zero". It was the album that started everything (for me) and has some of the most intense moments ever recorded.

If you want the more soft to exploding mind melt, then I suggest "Times Of Grace".

Just in case you can't find either of these two right away, go for "In Silver In Blood" or the new album "The Eye of Every Storm".

I envy you... I wish I could hear a band this good for the first time again!

I'm setting my ipod on Neurosis for the rest of the day! Rock, big time!

Ahh, subtlety. Please tell me when this is done.

I guarantee you no subtlety. And no more music by the suckers.

Anyway, it will probably never happen, but who knows? I haven't felt this angry since the Reagan days, and I was just a kid then. Maybe I'll post some of my older (c. 1989) rap stuff in the meantime.
