Running two bass heads...

How is this usually done? I saw photos of the guy from Death From Above running two Acoustics, and I have no idea how it's done. Is there an output from one to the other, or is the initial signal split from the instrument via pedal or something...? Sorry for my ignorance, but I've always been intrigued how this is done. Same with the Bear Claw photos of them recording, is there any real point of running two heads into one cab, except for loudness? I'm not dissing, just curious.

Does he have a dummy load on the head that's not connected to the cab?

By the looks of it, he is using the solid state SVT head without a cab.

I'm sure the above posters know more than I do about that particular setup, but in the dual ampeg rig posted above, it looks like the 8x10 might be one of the newer models, which also work in stereo (2 x 8ohm 4x10s), so you could run one head to the top 4 speakers and one to the bottom.

This only works with stereo cabs.

I suppose that this depends on how drunk the bass player is.

nah, i asked about it when those studio pic's were posted. SS SVT pre out to tube SVT power in to cab.

i don't think i can add anything else that hasn't already been said.

1. split a signal with an ABY box, or a box with two outs into two stacks.
2. or run the pre out into the power in of another.

either way you'll need two cabs.

bassplayers use to do this a lot with a crossover so one cab gets the highs, and one get's the lows.

the GK800RB does this anyway if you use the 100w high section along with the 300w low section.
