I did. It was a totally disappointing end to a great ride. (or beginning of the end, as Run Ronnie Run was also very disappointing). They had almost no new material and the sound was unbearable. The crowd sucked too, they kept yelling out "Naperville!" at the end when Bob and David were going to do some free-style banter with the crowd. (Bob lived in Naperville for a while, I guess). They ultimately just walked off the stage because of it.

Oh, and Boombats: Sorry that your dad raised you wrong.

I was there too. And yeah, the material itself wasn't great. Rehashing old sketches just seemed tacky to me. But man, when they introduced Bob and David with the entrance music it was absolutely surreal. I remember the chill that came over me at that moment, but not much about that show.

I saw the tour in San Francisco and the next night in Sacramento. The SF show was shitty. Bad sound, noisy, big open room. The other show was great. It was a much smaller room and the cast seemed to be having a much better time. It was really fun. Afterwards me and my friend went to a little empty bar in the town and shortly after we arrived, most of the Mr Show cast walked in and graciously invited us to sit at their table and drink beer with them until closing time. Absent was David Cross. It seems he had hooked up with a female fan and she took him home. That's what the other guys were saying.

I don't remember that - there might have been two shows/nights. I think I would have remembered them walking off.

I think Bob actually grew up in Naperville - he was born there. Agreed, a lot of the material was rehashed - but some of it I hadn't seen. I remember being able to hear good enough. I just liked the live feel - a lot more like what it would have been when they were taping.

Oh - and some trivia for the diehards. There's one show one episode where a bunch of the crew walks out single file at the end as the credits are rolling. I was watching it with the commentary on, and bob / dave say (I'm paraphrasing here) "Oh and there's Maynard from Tool. Remember he would always bake cookies and bring them? I didn't even know he was in a band - he never told anyone".

This was particularly funny to hear because I was talking to Joe Haggerty (drummer / pegboy) sometime before watching that and he told me they played L.A. on some holiday - christmas eve I think, and Maynard came backstage and brought them cookies he had baked. He said something about knowing how it sucks to be on the road on a holiday, etc. Said he was a really nice guy.
