Hello there. I was just wondering if anyone using this forum has ever used the Trident Fleximix. Just been lent one by a friend who had it taking up room in his house. It was primarily a live desk produced around the late 70's but I've heard that it's meant to be good for tracking drums but when I did some a-b tests against a Mackie 1402 found the Trident to be very thin sounding, making my 414 sound more like a c1000. Am I doing something wrong or is all the talk of this desk being the bees-knees a load of shit?!

Haha, we're ok thanks man. It's got too much sentimental value. Have you much experience with one and if so what did you use it for?

I used a friend's stand alone channel strip once and remembered the thing sounded great for DI bass signals.

Maybe it's not up to spec.

They are actually pretty sought after. On ebay they can bring a pretty good price. Yours probably needs to have the caps changed.

How many channels?

Could be a great little side car/summing box if you fixed it up.

reading, soldering iron. if it's just recapping, it won't be that hard. read around this forum, you'll find lots threads about that.

Right, I've got someone who's willing to have a go a recapping it, as I'm too busy making music. Is it a good desk for putting vocals through?
