listened to the disc on the way out of town last week. something about hitting the road to go play a show, and listening to the album for the first time... it was great. I knew most of the songs already, but then all of a sudden went "WHUH?!?! I never heard this one before!!!". That was great, too.

Then I listened to it a couple more times, and played it for a buddy who loved it.

I will listen to it a couple more times, maybe like two or possibly even three million.

Great album, guys. So nice!

I worked 12 hours today and it was an overall shitty day. However, when I got home the Bottomless Pit record was leaning against my door. I threw it on to cheer myself up and I've just got through my third listen.

It sounds incredible. I heard the songs streamed on the website ages ago and they sounded nice enough but by comparison to the vinyl, those tracks sounded like shit. If anyone heard those songs and liked them, wait until you hear the vinyl. The difference is remarkable. I don't know how they recorded these songs but the sound quality is absolutely pristine. Amazing.

Blown.
Away.

I love it! I've been living with the album for about three weeks now, taking it in daily doses. It's most certainly a grower, which isn't to suggest it isn't great from the off which it is, but it has real staying power and my favourite tracks have switched accordingly.

It's surprisingly varied too, each track a different configuration of BP's strengths but I think my eventual winner might be the epic Leave The Light On which has burrowed deep.

(Am I alone in finding a bit of a nod to You Doo Right in Dead Man's Blues? That nagging, spindly riff is terrific. The chorus *really* reminds me of something too but I've yet to place it.)

Effing brilliant!

It's Bedheady in places too.

I get this reoccurring image whenever I hear 'The Cardinal Movements' of a giant spaceship made out of lego blocks that is constantly rearranging and reshaping itself in front of a black background. Like some kind of gigantic, expanding rubik's cube.

That could also be lack of sleep though.
