Experience: Urinal Talk

It's bad enough when people try to strike up conversation because they're a fan of the band depicted on the shirt you're wearing that day. Probably the most absurd conversation-starter imaginable.

"Hey, looks like we picked a good time to take a whiz, huh chum?"

Crap. Unnerving crap, at that.

I think I'm okay with urinal talk in the same way I'm okay crazy-man-on-the-train-or-bus talk. But urinal talkers ought to know this: touching your genitals and peeing whilst talking to strangers makes you seem crazy.

A few days ago I was using a urinal next to a large black man who was having a really emancipatory pee. "Oooh, yes. Yes, sir. OOOHHHH. I feel like a new maaan!!"

Not Crap.

I love freaking people out with this. Supposing you let 'em get their stream going it's polite enough. What's more awkward is deciding whether to linger at the door for the other dude to finish up while finishing the conversation.

Somewhere on here is a story about someone (Spoot?) dropping his drawers all the way to his ankles, reaching out and back in a stretch, and moaning/sighing--all mid-stream at a truckstop or something.

Priceless.
Our band.

The link specifies that urinal talk takes place between complete strangers. This is generally crap. If I were to approach a stranger, I would pick a situation where our dicks weren't exposed.

I'd like to add an extra crap for urinal talk between co-workers in particular. While using the john at work, I never liked to exchange words with my bosses.

Given that I am fine with some sink chat, it's possible that what I wrote above is weird. I'm somewhat inhibited I guess.

Among friends, it's no problem. The only times when I find myself pissing alongside a pal, we're too drunk to have any kind of problem with continuing discussion.

Uncharacteristically chatty behavior in this context makes me feel weird.
