Unfortunately, every other band there is either a speed metal band or a horrid screamo/metalcore one. Thankfully, I'm glad to be going to college at a place with a better-than-decent music scene, and the crappy high school emo bands cavort and gig elsewhere, usually.

Dunno if it's the worst, but Swamp Shark ( http://www.myspace.com/swampshark1 ) is certainly the funniest. Their singer does a dance with nun-chuks at the end of the set.

The Academy Is.... That's the fucking band name. Who sits down and thinks that's a good band name.

I hear they are all over local radio. Man is it shit.

The Worst band I'd ever seen in my hometown of Miami was a band called Hopeless Joe. It was pretty terrible popish-punk stuff. The show is notable not only for how horrible they were, but also for the fact of their "Manager" running on stage and punching their drummer in the eye and knocking him unconscious after he grabbed the mic from the singer guy and screamed "We've just fired our manager, and this song is for all the faggots and the internet pussies". He was drunk, I think.
If anyone has ever been to Churchill's Hideaway in Miami before, where this took place, you would have a better understanding of how surreal yet somehow common of an occurence this was.
