Hmmm, I don't know about this, but I did see the phrase 'man-on-man rape' and thought the same thing.Marsupialized wrote:Jamaican Rapist isn't a bad band name really....Tony McGovern and the Jamaican Rapists or something like that, real smooth jazz band

That depends... Do you like Skrewdriver?
Musically speaking, Skrewdriver played some decent tunes, but the lyrics were horrible White Power Nazi shit. I could never bring myself into buying any of their stuff because of where the cash was going, and the ideology that it would ultimately be put to use supporting.
As far as Reggae is concerned, I like the music quite a bit, but at the same time realise that a lot of Jamaicans have a real redneck mentality when it comes to gay/progressive issues. I suppose it comes with the territory though because Rastafarianism is essentially religious fundementalism when you get past the pot issue. Also, a lot of the dancehall shit is basically the Jamaican version of gangsta rap, and gangsta rap isn't exactly known for being gay positive either.

Much as I hate to admit it, they've got some good songs.
Have you ever noticed, though, that their best material, melodically speaking, is also their most overtly racist? I guess that would explain why I keep listening to the most overtly racist songs over and over while pumping my fist in the air and holding an oversized beer stein in the other hand-- it's the hooks.
Also, I was wondering... if, when I find myself listening to Skrewdriver and admiring the Goebbels plaque in my foyer, I also happen to be donning a vintage Klansman outfit, does that make me a biggot?

So, if someone found what you wrote to be ridiculous, the only acceptable response is to laugh or respond light-heartedly? I'm genuinely curious.
well, i'm not sure your response itself counts as an "acceptable response." i just won't accept it!
will you accept that? is that an acceptable response to your, um, inacceptable response?

If H.R. was subjected to rape then maybe we can keep the words "past trauma creating." Otherwise it's just irrational, backwards thinking - especially since last time I checked H.R. himself wasn't born in Jamaica, but rather he was born in London.
Just answering your question that's all, sorry if it looks scatterbrained and unfocused to you, but you don't seem to be getting the "gist" of what I'm "stabbing at" anyway. To be sure straight-male-on-gay-male violence will create its own equally insidious set of subconscious trauma layers.
Has H.R. since apologized for his homophobia of a couple decades back? I'm under the impression he has. If that's the case, what does that count for?

"Man on Man Intimidation" is kinda lame. I know you can do better than that.
