Sitting here wondering how the sound of the vocal hum sound heard in "the she" was recorded. It sounds more than just overdriven...manipulated in what ways? It's driving me insane with it's insanity. Can't get enough of it.
any responses will be gladly accepted.

Here is my advice:
Do not call it 'investing' your money in your records but rather 'spending' your money ON them.
Do not do it for any reason other than you love the music/band you are releasing. All other reasons will come back to bite you in the ass.
Please do not clutter this earth with records/cds for the sake of putting out records/cds. Make it really good and worth it's existence.
Please think about it as art, not product. If it sells, great but if it does not, make sure it is still worth it to you to have helped it into being. That feeling is worth so much more than any money you could have 'lost' on it if it does not sell.
My two cents...

3things learned from the community:
don't sign the Butthole Surfers.
and don't do split 7's with SubPop.

But I digress. Please continue with the squirrel circuit semantic debate.

4Thanks for the advice guys, but i have no intention on making money off of any of my interests. And as far as making and releasing albums just for the sake of releasing an album...I guess that's in the ear of the listener. If it sucks to the listener then to them its a waste to them, but to the one person that may like it, its worthy.
Can't ever see myself doing any splits with subpop or signing butthole surfers. But I will guarantee, Van Halen's next album will be all mine!
Hope that clears up any disdain towards my ambitions.
Just a boy with some ideas.
Now will someone help me with the topic?

5No, I don't have disdain for your ambitions at all. I WANT someone to put out my next favorite record! Please do!
Also, as far as not releasing records for the sake of releasing records what I meant was this... I know many people who just really want to be on a record. They have found out how easy it is to have a record made (even easier to make a CD), all you have to do is pay for it. Easy. So they just crap out enough to fill it up so they can say they did it, something to show the grandkids or something. I just mean make it for a really good reason like you really like the music you are making, you have taken the time and care to make something of worth and value to yourself. I don't care if one person likes it or ten or whatever. That is not part of the equation. I think a lot of people put out records for the wrong reasons.
Anyway, I didn't mean my comments to be damning or discouraging. Just the opposite. I would be a happy man if I knew all records being put out were made with care by people who love them, whether the music on it was my cup of tea or not.

6Right on.
I couldnt agree with you anymore. Thanks for the support.
The whole reason I am doing this (aside from it being a long time dream) is for everything that is happening listed above. Too many people are convinced that the shit going down today is what music and art is all about. I'm not talking about making any kind of significant social impact (can't imagine that happening with anything i could do, nor am I interested) but I just want to offer another channel for choices to be made. Really just want to make some good records for some good people and have fun with supporting them. I strongly believe in all of our future releases or I would not even be recording them, other than the fact of simply archiving them.
If that makes any sense at all... then I guess that's what this is about.

Hope people arent getting pissed that this discussion has nothing at all to do with the topic at hand, although I would love to talk about that also.
