93What merchandising of music stuff? Tshirts and that bullshit?
I think the future is clearly Advermusic. LIke "Nissan presents the over exposed live foo fighters concert" on yahoo and American Idol, or doing songs for car commercials etc...
Selling tshirts seems like a losing prop to me, but I am t3h bAIS because I dont like Tshirts w/ words/logs on them

Cant see how you failed to miss it to be honest. Bends era Radiohead is pretty much the blueprint for Coldplay and a whole host of other sensitive types while studying at University.

I certainly don't think it's any 'lighter', but I was surprised at how fresh it all sounded, really not like a band making their 7th album...possibly due to how rhythmic and 'drum-prominent' much of it is? I'd say it's their most brilliantly realised and consistent record since 'Kid A'. An absolutely perfect autumn/winter soundtrack. I feel spoiled by this record.
Two things I can't figure out however are:
A. How do I play it all in one go, instead of one track at a time?
B. Have we only heard about 3/4 of the total album here? Are the other tracks in the Discbox the remainder of a double album, or just 'extra'?

bends was one album. i failed to see how one album by a band makes that band, as a whole, sound like another band that might have ripped off above one album in style.
oh snap!
can one snap for oneself?

98I heard on some radio story about this that even if you say you'd like to pay nothing for the record, you will have to pay a $1 'processing fee' (or something along those lines). This program went on to say that they will make at least $1 per download, which is about half of what they would make per CD (under a major-label deal).
Can any of you downloaders confirm/deny this?
It seems like a good move, from nearly any angle -- it's 'environmentally friendly', potentially very profitable, generated a huge amount of buzz, etc. I'm not trying to be cynical -- I think it's a fine way to release a record (other than on our beloved vinyl), and a guy like me who is fairly 'meh' on Radiohead would probably pay a dollar or two to download the record.
I haven't done so yet.
Carry on.

99Superking, i paid '0' for it (im one of those assholes that dont buy cds, and, also, dont own an international credit card). i received the link today. so yeah, it´s free if you want.
i think that, if you want to pay 1, the minimun is 2 for procesing. or something like that.
yeah isabelle, maybe 'ligh' is not the right word - i got the idea because of the amount of 'air' in the production, very few elements all the time.
and yeah it sounds fresh. these guys are playing together after 15 years.
