Doesn't that make you kinda silly then, that in your first post on this thread, you used an unnamed member of Melvins, an unnamed member of Planes Mistaken For Stars, and Josh Homme as examples of people who know what they're talking about when they say Fred's work is good? You don't think much of him, but you'll use his opinion as a defense of your friend's work?

And unless Fred has a raging hard-on for Josh Homme, how can he be the hyper-genuine guy you say he is (which I'm not disputing) if he's bringing Josh up in conversation with the guy who initiated this thread, putting pics and videos of Josh all over his website, etc?

Don't get me wrong, I like most of what I've heard of QOTSA and everything.

I really wish you would tell us a little about yourself so there's more context for all of this, but at the same time, I respect you for walking away at this point. And to be honest, not only did I find a whole bunch of other logical abberations in your first post on this thread alone, but I'd love to get into them if you wanna stick around. I have a feeling I'd get responses like "oooh!" or whatever, but it'd still be fun to go through the exercise.

Jesus, I don't want the last word. Really. No, it doesn't make me silly. Of course not. I was just playing a little game. But I don't much care for Kyuss or Queens... I'm not too into stoner rock. Hardcore is a different story. And though I can't say that I like Josh's music, or even think much of him as a person, I can nevertheless regard his opinion as that of some estimable qualification.

Hell if I know. I'm just saying that to call someone "completely disingenuous" is fairly all-encompassing, wouldn't you agree? "Completely" anything seems too compensatory. Saying something about jerking off on a piece of equipment is a far cry from lying your way through life. As I know him, Fred has never seriously wronged anyone, and a lie that's obviously not a lie isn't a lie.

So often we attempt to reduce and compartmentalize people based on such scant and insignificant information, merely to feel better about ourselves, playing these silly online games, talking a lot of nonsense about "trinkets," until we've convinced ourselves that we are right without the barest knowledge of the subject at hand. Language is inexact, and people take everything way too seriously. Many of you, for instance. Learn to laugh at yourselves a little.

We never cherish being reduced to elements ourselves, in spite of our own malevolent leanings. Some here called Fred a prick and insulted his work, so I stormed the castle to show you what a real prick is like. He never asked me to, but I enjoy causing trouble every so often, and it's effortless. It's nothing psychosexual, or even regrettable.
