I'm very sorry to hear about your Mulan. The death of my cranky-fabulous kitty earlier this year was and still is difficult.

Thanks you all so much for these very kind and very timely responses. It was a little bit like Christmas this morning reading them all.

Love the awesome Bjork video and Steve's video of (Pip?) eating corn kills me. Mulan too loved the corn much to everyone's suprise. Also add: turkey, cereal milk, and gorgonzola cheese to his favorite foodstuffs.

He also seemed to like Bach. Three weeks agao we were chilling out to Brandenberg Concerto number 5- it was awesome to watch him sleeping on the edge of the couch- after positioning himself right in the stereo sweet spot. You could watch his ears focus in and out- left and right, following all the action and nuance in the music with that big goofy eyes-closed cat grin.

All last week, he must have known that we were at the end. He was ridiculously needy and loving and playful- pretty much glued to my side the whole week. A friend of mine who's a cat lover said that he knew: it was his way of saying "Thank You" for all the years we had together.

I really wanted to be there when my childhood dog of 13 years got put under (I was 18 at the time). I loved this dog very much and felt gutted when she was gone---- I knew it was coming what with her failing health during her last couple of years, but it was still a shock to experience the void she'd left.

So sorry to hear about Mulan, I'm not sure it counts as cute but I've just got in and on opening the back door, this fellow (unknown to me, never spotted before) shot in from the yard and has taken up residence.

She's almost perfectly albino, as fast as lightning and reluctant to be photographed under any circumstances. I've had passing through cats stop by by before, I hope she stays for a while.
