Radiohead To Self-Release New Album

You know what? SCREW all of these people who feel like Radiohead has taken them for a ride.
The record is FREE if you want it to be.
Free!
If you want high quality, buy the CD when it comes out.
Nobody is making anyone buy the box set.

Christ, people will find anything to bitch about, won't they? Radiohead made some art, they released it, everyone is free to test drive it at no charge!
"Duped?"
"Forcing you to buy the record?"
Forcing?

Yes, asshole, you have the right to feel duped when someone offered to give you something for free.

Dislike it if you want. It's a free country. Discuss how little you like it ad nauseum, but for fuck's sake can we stop with the accusations that those awful, selfish guys in Radiohead are just brimming with bad intentions?

PS - CHRIST, people!

it's too bad we can't all be as cool as you.

Radiohead fans get REALLY sensitive about the band. I've already gotten into yet another argument with a friend of mine over Radiohead, in which he said, "If you find Radiohead boring, it's you, not them" as if Radiohead is somehow empirically interesting. (And that was one of the milder statements made in the whole debate, which he and I have had multiple times.)

For once, I agree with the fly. I respect what Radiohead do, but it's difficult to imagine a more overrated band among otherwise discerning music fans.

But I also agree with Alex. Any complaint over offering an album at ANY FUCKING PRICE YOU WANT TO NAME is just petulant bullshit. I admire what Radiohead has done with this effort and managers are going to say managerial, marketing bullshit like what's quoted in that article. Yes, I'm sure the hype around this distribution will (and obviously has) result in more publicity for the album, but that was inevitable. The managers are rubbing their hands in glee over it, but I find it difficult to imagine it was at the front of the band's collective mind when they made the choice.

thanks to the nice guy who posted the link so I could test drive the new Radiohead album.

I like it. Radiohead is a good band. They are like my version of a huge popular band that (god forbid! NOOOOO!!!) so-called "normal people" like. Liked them for years, think I will always like them. Don't care who does or doesn't like them. Good stuff. Will buy it if I see it in a music store for sure. I always do that.

I wish there something elitist and snooty I could say but I am afraid I don't have anything.

Nah, see Brian, you've been Meta-Snooty.
Meaning, it's so cool to bash Radiohead that you've upped the ante by liking them.
That's why I listen to them, at least.

I guess I never commented on whether or not I like this record.
The answer is yes, so far, I like it quite a lot.

Radiohead Fans Feel Duped By In Rainbows' Poor Sound Quality, Possible Ulterior Motives

bunches of stuff

Wow. I can't believe MTV would trumpet an article against a band who was questioning the standard capitalist model. MTV is so anti-major label and anti-corporatist....
