So much for the theory that complete are nice guys and are playing from their hearts. The guitarist thinks he really plays well and is arrogant about his sub-standard ability. Ho hum, another arrogant douchebag in a band.

Bassist. And even without that anecdote ("I can get the same sound with a pick than you can with one o' them fancy processors!"--awesome), you can tell he's a douche solely by the Cat in the Hat hat.

Complete are like those outsider artists where your first intention is to laugh, then you kind of think "they do kinda have something", then you're like "fuck, it's kinda good."

I was just watching the youtube footage, and it does seem to make some sense after awhile. They did have hooks, because hooks are simple and the playing is so basic, and the singer kinda reminds of Gibby Haynes but with less effects. The whole thing is bracing and over the top on some level.

And, though I'm not sure, exactly, what the gender of the person in the cowboy hat gyrating erotically to their music was, you can see that they did have some encouragement.
You call me a hater like that's a bad thing

Exactly my thoughts-these punk rock kids just can't handle it because it's too far out for them. Honestly though, is this band actually genius? I feel like they might be genius. My brother thinks Captain Beefheart is just a lot of noise and has missed the beauty there, what if we're missing out here? I'm going to invest some serious time into their music and try to unlock the magic.

The weakest link in a band is always the member who talks the most shit. It's one of those tacit yet unbendable rules.

With that said, the bitter photo lab guy is the most pathetic.
