so I just burned the shit out of my hand
42Heal up to play later.
That has got to truly suck goats to burn yourself like that. I still remember burning myself a tiny bit on boiling water as a little kid and screaming my head off.
Burning yourself like that...I don't even want to think about that. Owwwwwwwwch.
Get better, man.

Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

43Glad you went. Hope you heal quick. I burned my belly with boiling water at 13 when I tossed it out of the pot into the sink and it circled around and launched back out, so I feel your pain. It sucks when decisions like that have to take finance into account. No one in this country without health insurance is any more than a broken ankle from financial ruin.

44The same thing happened to me as a kid, except my skin didn't fall off. It was all bubbly though. The only thing that really made it feel good was holding a damp towel on it. From that, I learned that keeping the burned area damp and cool is the best thing to do, and somehow is also partly a healing property as long as you keep the water and the cloth clean. I've never tried ointments, but then again I've never burned the skin off my hand...
You seem to have it under control. Just keep that bitch clean or you'll be playing the sequencer with the nub left on your wrist.

45yeah I woke up this morning and it hurts worse than yesterday I am just sitting here grinding my teeth, maybe now's a good time to think about getting into heroin or something. I definitely need to get ahold of some painkillers at some point today.
The nurse yesterday who was cool, and all fucked up on something assured me I won't get charged and told me it'll be around 12 weeks before it's healed and that 2nd degree burns are the most painful injury a human can get.
I can't imagine it hurts worse than when I saw my friend rip his nutsack open climbing over a fence when we were kids, but I know what she's getting at...this motherfucker is PAINFUL.
She tried to find me some vicodin laying around but she was unable, she also showed me where she had a crazy ex boyfriend throw boiling coffee on her back, it was all scarred up. Made me feel like kind of a pussy, it's just my hand this shit covered her whole back.

Your flesh is still burning after you remove it from the heat source. It's like a steak--keeps cooking after you take it off the grill.
When you put ice on it or soak it in cold water, it helps stop the cooking process, in addition to numbing it.

yes, exactly.
back in the days of bad advice, they used to use butter as an ointment on burns. think of the irony there.

For future reference they told me ice is a bad idea, cool water is the way to go. I guess putting ice on a bad burn right away can do some serious damage to your nerves.

49Yes, take care Marsup. Sorry to hear of your injury. You wouldn't want your knob-twiddling capabilities to be permanently reduced by 50%!
You guys have another gig coming up this Friday, don't you? I hope you'll be up for performing.

Dude we have like 5 shows in the next 4 weeks or something like that, and there's no way I'd even miss practice tonight let alone one of the shows.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone but now I must put it in Jesus's hands.
I'll be down the street at the prayer furnace if anyone needs me.
