Resequence an album!

It's simple: resequence an album that you either genuinely think should be resequenced, or resequence an album just to see if it flows nicely. Only the original songs on the original album.

Example of an album that's been wildly resequenced over the years: Big Star's Third/Sister Lovers.

I'll start with the latter option (just to see if it flows) and go with The Birthday Party's Junkyard:

1 The Dim Locator
2 Several Sins
3 Junkyard
4 Dead Joe
5 She's Hit
6 Kiss Me Black
7 Big-Jesus-Trash-Can
8 6" Gold Blade
9 Kewpie Doll
10 Hamlet (Pow, Pow, Pow)

What do you think? Total bullshit or not?
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

I'll get back to you on that one.

But I will try it. I have the CD, though, so don't expect the three other songs cause I don't know where they were originally. (I would like to hear those songs someday, too. I think they are "Mr. Robot's Holy Orders," a cover of Van Halen's "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love," and a rerecorded version of "Little Man With A Gun In His Hand.")

I've seen people try and resequence Trout Mask Replica, so the Minutemen wouldn't be too much harder.

The car jams would still open and close the album.

I've had problems with that album myself because my first exposure to it came from a dubbed copy of an older cassette release loaned from a library. (BER, this was the library in or near Hopkinsville, btw)

Unbeknownst to me at the time, this original cassette release was resequenced (as they used to often do) so that there wouldn't be massive amounts of blank tape on one side or the other...

I think I've found a mention of that particular cassette release here:

Many years later, when I heard the album correctly sequenced on CD (with 'Frownland' as the opening track), it really threw me for a loop...

So - if you're really bored sometime, try that 'cassette' sequence - I think it works well.
