maybe this has already been mulled over by you electrical board,
but
i do not understand this semi-traditional thing of playing some fucking cover song as the last song of a yr set.
is fine w/ me if you like that song, but why is it the last song of the set all the time?
what the a fuck? huh

2Hmm... not really familiar with this phenomenon. My band has done covers, but we've always made a point of making our last song one of ours. The cover usually gets placed somewhere in the middle-ish of the set.

3The cover song goes last if it's a good closer. We've done 'em at the beginning, middle, and end.
Not crap.

Hey. My name's Josh.

4The only time I have ever played a cover was at a Halloween show last saturday night. We played it last because we needed a singer to do it, and it seemed weird to have him come up mid way through the set.
We're never going to play it again, but if we did, I think we'd play it early. Maybe.
And it was Bad Penny, so I think it was a good "closing" song.

6Only time we've ever done a cover to close was when we played Mclusky's "Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues."
For the record that's an excellent note to end a set on.

8Crap when it's a cheap way for a band with boring songs to stick in your conciousness longer than they belong there.
Excellent when it's Nomeansno.

10We nearly always end our set with a song that especially written for that purpose. However on very rare occasions we get asked for an encore and have exhausted our limited repitoire. That's when we reach into the bag for a simple cover. Two I can remember doing this with were Where Eagles Dare by the Misfits and Hate The Police by the Dicks.
