State and Describe Your Job

Programmer for 21+ years, all web-based software now. I've been a manager of programmers, too. I give talks about software engineering, and I'm writing a book for geeks about how to get hired.

I have negligible musical talent, so programming is my creative outlet.

Let's stick together and futurize our attitudes!

State and Describe Your Job

Desktop administrator, helpdesk coordinator for a large public university. I was a chef through most of my younger years, now I supervise computer science students in their subject of choice while hacking my own way through IT support. I have much supervisory Kung Fu.

I also produce and audio engineer a weekly live television music show. It's 100% volunteer, but I approach it as a professional to the degree I have time for.

web designer - our design team is around 20 people, our entire company is a little over 200 now, including SQL, web Dev, data engineering, client solutions. We do financial sites exclusively.

I do different things day to day and month to month. Flash, processing, html/css/javascript, photoshop. It's pretty good--the company kicks ass. I don't know shit about development, but our developers are incredible.

Still, right now I sort of want to quit to write and possibly starve.
