I just typed this to a friend and very much like the sentiment. It's my new philosophy, at least until the beer buzz wears off.

Remember whatever fruit life gives you, once it's fermented, it's fun.

At this moment, what words do you live by? They don't have to be your own but that is preferred.
Don't let the strawberry win.

My grandfather and father were those classic laconic southern men who periodically dispense little bits of information that can Change Everything. I am not saying that their ideas were always new or particularly groundbreaking, but they always seemed to come at the right time.

here are some examples:

"If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging."

"Bravery is not the absence of fear... That's just being too stupid to know how much danger you're in. Bravery is overcoming the fear that you feel."

"I don't need to run faster than a bear, I just need to run faster than you."

"Sometimes the meal you eat will be the best thing that happens to you all day, so sit down and enjoy it if you can."

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.

-Ernest Hemingway
"To be stupid, selfish, and have good health are three requirements for happiness, though if stupidity is lacking, all is lost."

-Gustave Flaubert

you can't charge an emotional debt for things you give of your own free will.

unless you devote your life to doing what you want, you're only working on someone else's project.

anything you do will turn out good if you take as much time and as much care as you can afford.

the only faith that pays off is faith in yourself.

do it like you love it, or don't do it at all.

the only good advice is advice that's been asked for.

you set the rules of engagement with every encounter.

living is learning. learning is knowing. knowing is being. being is living.

you can credit all those to yours truly.
