lukewarm saltwater. applied directly up the nostrils. use a "sports" style bottle with the nozzle an blast it right up yer nose.

Avoid dairy products, they bring on the snots.

Strong ginger tea is good for the throat in many ways, and it will soothe it when it's sore.
Ginger beer in a pinch (not ginger ale).

A friend of mine swears by neti pots, but I have reservations about doing bumps of saltwater. Many people have told me it's the ticket though. An enema for yr schnoz.
I think it's supposed to help prevent colds too.

i started doing this recently (recommended by an allergist). it's hard to do, but it works very well.

i would recommend something something like this and drinking lots of water. lay off the booze, milk, and coffee while doing vocals too.

I do this on occasion too, but always call my mother before I proceed, because I am so sure that one day I will dry-drown myself doing so. I am a klutz.

Plus you get to see lime-green snot if you have infected sinuses. Good times.

this is by far the best thing i've done for my sinus troubles. i started out using one of the neil med bottles with the saline solution:

I use this neti pot twice a day. It's great. Use sea salt with no iodine or anti-caking agents.

It's especially good for cleaning out the crud that collects after an evening in a smoky bar.
