er, why is no-one stating the obvious here, analogue and digital are both equally valid recording mediums, more like tea and coffee than good and evil ????? I guess most people like to have a machine to rage against to make them feel more justified in their belief system, but isn't audio recording supposed to be the domain of creative artists not religious zealots?
And also why do all studios insist on using Pro Tools, its convoluted to use, I have found Acid or Reaper to be a lot easier to get on with for multitrack recording, a case of keeping up with the Joneses perhaps?
The digital world is full of useful and useless technology just the same as the analogue world, lets stop fighting each other and work together (cant find an emoticon for irony)

112Any plans to include Ardour? Seems like it might be more in the spirit of things...

113I did a session in Studio B with Pro Tools and it was rad.

HAHAHA!!!
The ProTools announcement didn't send me for a loop, but this quote did.
Is Steve reading Slashdot when he's not waxing the tape machines?
Oh, and whoever posted the captions to the Steve based LOLCATS pictures. Salut, and hurry up with them.

116When is Electrical going to adopt this new analog recording technology?

117This is Tad Donley speaking. Pro Tools is alright, but it's got a different feel and sound than Nuendo. I've used Pro Tools for 7 years with a motu converter. I couldn't get the big sound. I can with Nuendo. Nuendo is cleaner, clearer, more analog warmth than pro tools and when it gets down to mixdown and mastering, it just sounds better. Got some fools on another string laughing it up about what I and others across the US have discovered and experienced. And they can kiss my ass. I've raised my rates to $50 an hour, and doing fine. Hd is cool and yes Pro Tools is proprietary when it comes to buying stuff to work with it. If you get Pro Tools pieces, it sounds better than third party addons (like the motu converter). The only benefits pro tools have over Nuendo is it's ability to digitally slow down or speed up the wave or aiff file and it uses it's own processing power which eliminates latency.
Yeah, I'm in the band, WARRIOR, and we're going secular and about to record a new CD. What good is Pro Tools or Nuendo if you don't have good monitors and a great vocal mic. SM58's are the work horses and the standard. I can't believe one or two of your assholes were trying to make fun of Shure. What idiots. You all have a nice day

119I understand. Unless you have recorded, mixed and mastered on Nuendo, you're missing out on a great sounding system. You dont' need neve or ssl (even though I did purchase the WAVES SSL plugin and it's smooth) you don't know what you're talking about. I was offered a teaching position at Port Arthur College and the curriculum taught both Pro Tools and Nuendo. You don't have to spend $15,000 to $30,000 to get a great, professional sound that's sweet. You can now come again. Thanks.
