unknown altec microphone

that looks to be a 683. i have three of them. two that are green (the 689) and one silver like the one above.

they are just about the coolest looking mic in the world. not incredibly useful for a good variety of sounds. very very dark, but ive had luck on guitar amps, B3 amps and the like with them.

or a 685a.

I have one of these (green) and I try to use it all the time (because it looks awesome) but I've only really liked it on snare and for some electric guitar.

Also, it has a 5-pin connection and is supposed to have an altec amplifier that comes with it (which has a 3 pin output) but you can just get a 5 pin to 3 pin converter cable and it will work fine.
