They've just started playing an orchestral version of It's Lovely Weather for a Sleigh Ride Together With You over the PA. It's going on and on. It's loud!
Will it be followed by an announcement? Yes! It is time for a message from the president.
"an extraordinary year for our country... war... struggling economy... exciting for our company... new location... reorganization has improved profits... significant changes... in the fast-paced world of today, we can expect this to continue at an accelerated rate... global competition... esp. true for a complex company like ours... all over the globe... the success of our company, and the welfare of our associates, are intertwined. when the company does better, our associates benefit... continue the growth... you are the ones who make this happen... your hard work and creative acheivements are greatly appreciated... carry forward into next year... exciting new products... i'm glad that we are ending 2003 on a happier note than last year. i wish you and your families joyous holidays. we all hope that 2004 will bring an end to war and a better life for people everywhere."
That is nice. Thank you mr. president. Now more music! What is it? Andres Segovia? Playing...? ah! Deck the Halls!

3Boss: "We missed you at the Christmas party..."
Me: "That's because you changed it from a nice, tasty, formal dinner, with free drinks and a cheesy D.J., into a smelly brunch that is open to the public, in order to save a couple bucks...A couple more coals for the fire please Ebenezer?"
I wanted to, but working outdoors is so cold.

7If I didn't have my Esuivel Xmas CD to play, this job would be a living, breathing Hell.
But I digress. Please continue with the squirrel circuit semantic debate.

8For my christmas party at job #1 I began drinking at 9pm. Was fully drunk by 12am. Smooched on a girl in the sound booth while I was running sound for my recently acquired ex-girlfriend who was singing karaoke at the time. Got yelled at by said ex-girlfriend in front of all of my coworkers and friends. Smooched on previous girl again, this time by the video games (less blatant, I thought). More yelling. Got a ride to job #2 a mere 2 blocks away by insistent ex-girlfriend. 1 more hour of getting yelled at. I then passed out on the floor of job #2 at roughly 8am. Shortly thereafter was awoken on a pile of T-shirts by my boss and handed my small but much appreciated christmas bonus before returning to job #1 to have beer for lunch. I have the two best jobs in the world.

9So how's it shaping up this year, PRFers?

10I'm considering playing the Sesame Street Christmas record.
That's about it.
Yet another boring aspect of working from home.
