I like it as well, but could do without the cover of "Mexican Radio". I just rebought this album over the summer along with Morbid Tales and Hellhammer - Apocalyptic Raids. It was like 1987 all over again around here.

I have an inordinate amount of adoration for wacky analog synthesizer abuse.

I want one of those for Christmas but I'll never get one.

Man, just go to your local used electronics outlet...buy two 40-dollar function generators...get a cheap compressor-gate with a sidechain function...run it all through your mixer + effects, and drop a wah pedal in for a filter.

It's quite limited, but you can do nifty stuff like having a kick drum trigger 'notes' you dial in with the function generators...or mix horrible tones in with your vocals...etc.

All these awesome old analog synths are great, but the price has been absurdly driven up by collectors. Those in the know can build similar synths with about 200 bucks in parts...

I may just have to do this myself. It's something I've been considering. I've never soldered or built anything like this in my life but if I could do this for $200 I'd be totally set.

Einstürzende Neubauten's Kollaps, which is the only thing that seems to be able to block out that execrable Beatles cover CD or whatever it is. Kollaps, however, is making me happy.

I was listening to Halber Mensch the other day. I've had this record for a few years and never knew what to think of it. I still don't. It must be like half great and half not so great, though I haven't managed to really parse out the specifics.

Kollaps is awesome, no two ways about it.
