Yep, the guitarist and bassist in my band know to keep out of "The Danger Zone" (anywhere near my drum kit when I'm playing).
I almost impaled a guy in the crowd with a drumstick once with the last hit of the last song. My stick snapped and I could see it hurtling towards him in cinematic fashion. Luckily, he saw it too.
