nah. there are lots of great squier guitars. seriously. old ones, with a pickup swap, work great. also the old 80s ones are very good ones seriously.
there's also a little known "squier pro-tone" series that were incredible. ash bodies!
and some of the new vintage modified and other models are great - lots of PRF members have them and swear by them.
so yeah, i'm a pussy.

My first bass guitar was an Ibanez. That was pretty crappy.

hey I have a Jagmaster and it's OK . . . granted I had to resolder everything but I have played worse new Fenders. I think the worst guitar that I have seen a lot of people play is a Rickenbacker 330. I have played some older ones that were decent guitars, I've never played a new one that was worth the $1300 or whatever they charge for those things. I've played recent 660's that I've thought were great.

Why, Benjamin...are you perchance speaking of the awesome Squier guitar that is currently in our bedroom closet? The seafoam green one? The one that was my first electric guitar purchase, which has an unfortunate association with a certain female rock star? That one?

That is (both specifically and as a model as a whole) one of the chosen Squier guitars.
