I'm not sure I'm understanding the problem you're having. I use iTunes all the time to listen to podcasts and it works great. For instance, I will listen to half of a podcast, stop it, listen to a few other shows and when I come back to the original podcast it starts exactly where I stopped it.

Are you on a Mac or PC?

Never mind. It only did this when I was accessing it straight from the store. Once I went to the downloaded file in my "Podcasts" library, I could pause and restart with no problem.

I'm a PC guy using a Mac at work. I pretty much never know what I'm doing with these Mac apps.

If you enjoyed the interview with Steve, try this one with Brendan Canty of Fugazi.

Brendan is not only a really sharp guy, but he was a really amazing guest... I had a great talk with him about a lot of the same things I talked with Steve about... but especially about what it means to be a punk rocker when you're a grownup. I was really touched by some of the stuff he said, he's the kind of guy who really cares about what he does with his mind and heart.

That sounds kind of awful and sappy, reading it now, but I do mean it :)

I enjoyed the interview with Steve quite a bit, and am grateful to you for making some of the Coyle and Sharpe tapes available on iTunes.

But the song goes from mildly annoying to worth avoiding at all costs very quickly. I didn't listen to you for a long time because of it. Yes, it is short, but that's not the point. It is so steeped in the meta-clever smarmy cuteness that it is unbearable, and that lingers much longer than the time it takes to listen to it. It's the musical equivalent of wearing an "I'm With Stupid" trucker hat and Howard Jones t-shirt.

Yes, it is that bad. Oh yes it is. Coupled with irony-clad name of the show, it's a very unappealing package. Which is too bad because I like the show. You're a good interviewer and you've got great taste in guests.

Feel free to dismiss this as someone just being an ass over the internet, but I like what you do and want to be able to listen to it without cringing.

Call Mayfair. He can do what you need.

And thanks for the Brendan Canty interview. I'm looking forward to listening to it.
