I have never heard this lady before so as per usual I played the Google Image Search Game™. She gets a rare pass from me! I've been streaming some of her music and it doesn't offend me at all. Some of it is quite amusing, some of it is danceable. She seems to actually have an opinion on wider socio-political themes which endears me to her further.

NC, tiny Sri Lankan rapper lady.

she's a one-trick-pony if there ever was one. ever listen to an entire MIA CD, the whole way through, in one sitting? didn't think so; there's a reason for that. it's the same song, over and over.

and this silly british genre, "grime," is funny. any of those european electronica genres (always defined by, among a few other things, a precise tempo range, that i suppose cannot be bent by just 2 bpm) tend to be funny as such.

I saw her on MTV between videos, asking why America is scared of M.I.A. Hello? You're on MTV. In America.

I lean toward Not Crap, but there's an annoyance factor at work as well.

I guess it's just that I don't hear anything like her, so I lean NC for the novelty.
Why do you make it so scary to post here.
