Squeaky's the cute one. What are they thinking?

I was watching Gangland on the History Channel (highly recommended) and they mentioned how the leader of the Latin Kings was serving 9 years for killing his girlfriend. So he gets 9 years while someone who missed got 32? I'm sure the circumstances were different, but that seems like a long time for attempted murder. Is that the norm?

After JFK there were federal guidelines for even attempted assassinations.

Even attempted asassination of a head of state is taken seriously around here.
