Indeed. First one that came to mind, actually. I guess it's like any aspect of the electric guitar, and indeed, the guitar itself: Not Crap in the right hands, insufferable in the wrong ones.

I find pinch harmonics to be a bit tricky; I'll use my thumb and third or fourth finger, gives me a bit more control.

And what about tap harmonics? Love'em...

Reasons I love this:

1. My favorite "solo" guitar player of all time

2. Total antithesis of Hendrix, burning out and just standing there like he was alseep.

3. Amp turned around backwards

4. In the first couple of lines, there's a close up where you can tell he wants to sing and then it's clear he just said it with the Tele.

5. Killer Lawyertone

Sure, this is a pretty lame song, but the man still deserves respect. Go listen to "The Messiah Will Come Again" or "Sweet Dreams". I'd stay away from "Flash Chordin" though.

It seems like most of the vitriol directed against artificial harmonics here is based on their use in flashy, 80s style, Satriani-inspired solos.

They can be ok in moderation, when used to spice up a rhythm line, for instance.

I endorse the pinch harmonic.

If you think pinch harmonics are douchy, wait until you hear some jazz turd strum a whole chord that way. AIDS.
