Movie w- Steve Martin mackin Danes : Shopgirl

Wow. I saw this movie this evening, again. Besides being a thoroughly effective tear-jerker that shows just how much Steve Martin has grown as an actor (and interestingly enough, a writer), it is also quite entertaining. And I think Claire Danes is fucking gorgeous.

Had me swallowing hard at the end, and I give not two fucks if EA collectively calls me a puss. Fuck you in advance, this movie is the best of its genre.

i love steve martin, and i really like his writing. but i only 45% loved this movie, and mostly for jason schwartzman. claire danes was... not all that annoying. but steve martin, as much as i would like him to rock my body, was creepy and somewhat ineffective. i dunno... i think they needed to have some chemistry and for the most part i don't think that happened.

looked nice though.

My favourite scene in this film is where Steve Martin tells Claire Danes to stay where she is. The camera remains still while he wanders off into his house. Martin then steps in from the left and gives this really ominous look. Cut to Claire Danes, who is now reclining on her stomach, nude.

The short time it took for this to occur led me and the friend I saw the film with to hypothesize that Steve Martin's glare was powerful enough to strip her and knock it over. There's really no other explanation.
