Someone once bought me a computer game for my computer. I stayed up until four in the morning killing things and drinking red wine. This led to me throwing up in the shower. I think I might have also shit myself. I don't like games.

I wouldn't play this game unless you got to join in a simulated after-gig gang-bang. Could you do that on wii?

Christ. The "why not just play real guitar" argument crops everywhere this game is discussed.

Because it's NOT PLAYING GUITAR, any more than playing a baseball video game is playing baseball. The baseball/guitar playing are just the interface, not the objective. It's a game. Now if you have some overall problem with video games, fine. You're still a bit of a snotty douche, but at least it's understandable. They're not for everyone. But this particular game is not a guitar-playing simulator. It is not a substitute for making music.

Fuck me. People just love having something to be superior about.

Bump.

We got it. It's fun. I really like it. I was arguing with PRF Hero Tom about it.

On the first or second page of the thread, people were talking about how it seemed really off the beat. I wonder if you were playing on an HD television. The HD sets have a built-in delay for some reason, so you're always going to play a little late. The good news is that the game will let you calibrate the delay. When I brought it over to a friend's house, neither of us could do well at all until we had set the delay to 55 ms. So, try that if you're on an HD set.

If you're not on an HD set, I don't know. I play along with the song, and have no trouble.
Why do you make it so scary to post here.
