It is common with short-nosed dogs, do a google search for the "inverted sneeze." When Milo did that the first time it freaked me out because no one let me know anything about anything, so just trying to throw some knowledge I came about the hard way out there for you.

Right right. I have been reading up on pugs quite a bit lately on account of Orson's arrival. My friend has a pug as well and warned me about the sneeze. As prepared as I feel, I'm sure I am going to have a bat shit first child moment when it happens... Thanks for the heads up!

Black pugs!
I can't even stand them!
I see them on the street and I don't want to stop to converse because I'm afraid I'll steal them!

They are so great! They rarely bark but make amazing stentorian breathing sounds! And they snarfle your hand when you offer it.

I've had an imaginary black pug for four years. His name is Smooth Louie. Super quiet.
