Yes, it's the best that Subway has to offer. But *so fattening*, good God.

Have you looked at the nutritional information for Quizno's? In general, it's much worse than Subway. Plus, at least you have the option to add extra toppings (more peppers, tomatoes) at Subway. At Quizno's, if the dipshit behind the counter wants to short you on green peppers and slather your sub with 1/4 cup of mayo, you don't have a say until the product is in your hands and you've paid for it.

I hate Subways.

No matter what filling you get it always seems to taste the same - Shite!

The little perfectly weighed packets of precisely cut meat freak me out.

The staff are a bout as cheerful as their cousins at Macdonalds

A peculiar sense of dead ambition - or death generally - permeates the air of every outlet I have been into

But, most of all, I am sick to fucking death of every corner of the town centre growing this huge green and yellow sign which leaps out and ruins the look of the street even more than it already has been ruined by other large bright and brash signs.

Fuck off Subway I'll make me own sarnie!

Lowest common denominator crap for people who regularly get sucked in by advertising, and don't give a shit that the American landscape has turned into one big strip mall. A perfect example was when the excellent Deli 38 used to be at Clark & Grace (before the space was taken over for the expansion of Uncommon Ground), and you would see dozens of fools walk right by and go into the Subway across the street.

For those who live or work near EA, Hero's at Addison & Western makes a good variety of subs--just make sure to time it when the place is not packed with Lane Tech students. Even the Dominick's down the street has good foccacia sandwiches. And if you feel like venturing straight west, there are still some mom and pop Italian grocery stores on and around Harlem Ave. that beat the fuck out of anything I've mentioned above. Anything but the shite you get at Subway.

These are all trumped by any good independent sandwich/takeout restaurant which puts good fresh ingredients together for a decent sandwich.

Oh, I forgot Potbellies.

I am tired of the whole hot sandwich thing though. Unless it is a hot corned beef sandwich, piled high, with swiss cheese and mustard. Or a Reuben sandwich. These are like heaven.
