Band: Laughing Hyenas
2I know almost nothing of the history of this band. I bought "you can't pray a lie/life of crime" dual cd in a cut out bin just because i saw jim kimball played drums on it. It stayed in heavy rotation on my stereo for a couple of years. I bought another cd of theirs that kinda sucked though. Don't even recall the name.
Based on "you can't pray a lie/life of crime", they are very NOT CRAP.

3I saw the Laughing Hyenas many times in the Life Of Crime/You Can't Pray A Lie era, and they were one of the most consistently ferocious live acts I've EVER seen. Their recordings got a bit uneven after that, but they could still kick hard in front of an audience. Most certainly NOT CRAP.

4Certainly not crap. John Brannon's current band Easy Action kicks ass as well...

6My band got compared to this band in a review, but I have no idea what they're all about. Can someone please fill me in? I've heard them mentioned in the same breath as The Birthday Party.

8It's been about three years now since this first came up. I did an accidental double-post back then. Oh darn. Was listening to the album Life of Crime by these guys tonight. Still holds up quite well, I must say. I hope some of the "who are these guys?" contingent on this thread have grown up and maybe bought a Laughing Hyenas album or two. Listen and learn.

9Great band.
"Stay" is my favorite song by them. However, Life of Crime makes daddy happy every day.

As in Dale Jr.'s English Language Handbook terrible.
God, we're all fucked.

10I heard a song a long time ago and I didn't like it, looks like they're worth trying again. Good album to start with anyone?
