Yeah, the first wave of solo albums are pretty essential (GZA, Raekown, and Ghostface). Cuban Linx is my absolute favorite, its a great rainy day record.

But, to me it doesn't get any better than Supreme Clientele.

Does anyone here the Japan-only release of the Ghost Dog score?

The first Bobby Digital album is ace. The second one, Digital Bullet, is pretty weak.

I don't have the Ghost Dog soundtrack, but there is another RZA soundtrack called Afro Samurai that I bought on iTunes. Sucks.

I said it here before, if you guys have the chance, pick up ODB's Osirus: The Mixtape. It's real good and quite hilarious.

This album, No Said Date, on Nature Sounds Records, is very underrated. "School," featuring the RZA, is one of the best Wu tracks in the past 10 years. The single is good too. Check the video; it's a little gimmicky but it's hard not to like R.A. the Rugged Man serving burgers to Masta Killah and the RZA. Pretty much every song on No Said Date is great. The follow-up, Made in Brooklyn, isn't nearly as good though.

I'm sure this has been discussed on here before, but the "good" Ghost Dog soundtrack is the Japanese import. The one that was released here had little to do with the movie; it was like a bunch of throwaway Wu-bangers circa Forever.

But what about Birth of a Prince? That had some great songs, including "Grits" (oh, wow, there's a video! I had no idea until just now. Wow, it's awesome!), "Whistle," and the awesome "Bobby N' I."

And Jesus, why is nobody talking about 8 Diagrams?

yea i really like that song. but i enjoy the first 1/2 of it much more than the fast part towards the end. i really enjoy the beats of tru masta and mathematics, who did a lot of that album. in earlier wu days, tru masta did the beat for method man's "torture," while mathematics did the beat for ghostface's "mighty healthy"... 2 great beats.

funny, i just heard birth of a prince for the first time in a few years yesterday. there's a few really good tracks on there... grits, you'll never know, the whistle, the birth, chi kung, hoto chotan, a day to god is 1000 years...

i really enjoyed 8 diagrams. it's a much more advanced album than forever, with some really well arranged/layered beats (and great drum programming) and some great verses, especially those from raekwon imo.
