I find it fascinating.

Ron Paul, despite his good points, is still a nationalist and far-right candidate. A far-right nationalist candidate who is mopping up some of the less realistic leftwing support in the States right now.

As an outsider to American politics, it is most exciting petri dish I could hope to peer over.

Actually, yes. Though I've heard many other people make more compelling and articulate statements about those issues.

Or he says he didn't write, even though they were issued by his office, which is convenient given that he has a higher media profile now than when they were published.

And fuck you, I'm not "letting the mainstream media herd (me) away" from Ron Paul. I'm not seeing a lot of enthusiastic support for him in Z or In These Times. Or are they part of the "mainstream media" now too? I've read what the man has to say, and like I said, I think a little makes sense but most of it is crap, and I don't care for the man's baggage or some of his past associations. Besides, I tend to be suspicious of politicians who claim to be "anti-government." Seems like Bush and Reagan rode that particular train in the past.

For what it's worth, I voted for Dennis Kucinich in the Michigan primary, who I think has been devalued as a candidate in the press far more than Ron Paul, and doesn't have an army of brainwashed lackeys giving him money, either.
