Little details from your day

I did that thing where you meet a gorgeous person at a party who makes it indisputably clear they're interested in seeing you again, upon which they disappear before you can get their phone number. Searched high and low through the corridors of a byzantine loft building full of revelers with no result. I'm googling likely spellings of her name, in combination with what scant details I can remember through the fog of the night's whiskey and pot, to no avail.

On the way out of the party I noticed that an enormous plate-glass window in the entryway had been smashed clean through, so forcefully that only small shreds of glass remained embedded in the metal frame, and that there were puddles of frozen blood on the sidewalk. The most intriguing woman I've met in some time slipped away, and some poor sap cut himself to ribbons falling through a window, but still I sit here and think: I had a terrifically fun time and it was just what I needed.

Did the host of the party invite her? You might be able to figure this out with the right contacts. Good luck.

It's the only way I'll be able to achieve the sound I hear in my head.

It was a loft show/DJ thing (Pas Chic Chic [ex-godspeed], Megasoid [Sixtoo & Hadji of Wolf Parade], among other awesomeness) that was packed to the gills with various folk, so working back through the hosts wouldn't be fruitful. However it's a small neighbourhood and I am not without my resources, so I'm far from despondent. Thanks for the encouragement.

yesterday I:
finished assembling the frames for the sound traps for my recording studio.

built, primed and painted to two halves of my 8ft x 8ft drum riser. (2x8s and 3/4" plywood- solid!)

primed the purple walls in the studio lounge so that I can paint them a less obnoxious color soon.

The primer was kilz2, which I thought, it being a latex primer, would be less noxious in a closed space. Wrong, so wrong. I thought I was going to die last night. I was walking around with a splitting headache wondering if my unborn children were being affected.

Today I:
Felt much better with the primer fumes out of my system.

Cut a massive hole for the drum room window in between the control room and the drum room.

Ran a 16 channel snake over the ceiling from the control room to the drum room.

Cased the window opening so that we can put the glass in tomorrow.

I have photos on my phone of most of this. I will post them when I am not dog tired.

real hung over all day
laid around with the cats watching the history channel, also watched that 'Bridge' documentary about people jumping off the golden gate bridge, was ok I guess....waiting for my also hung over wife to get home from her party she was at last night....she rolled in around 1:30pm, with coffee and espresso brownies for me....the caffeine does wonders for the hang over.....felt better, went and ate stir fry
Developed a gambler as we left the restaurant....for those not aware of what a gambler is...well, you have the feeling in your stomach that you need to pass gas badly...but also, you sense that it could very well be that you have the shits....no way to really know for sure...
So, do you gamble and let it rip in hopes you don't cause an embarrassing pants disaster in the middle of this store? Or do you wait till you get to a bathroom just to be sure? You'll feel dumb if you get all the way home and get in there and it's just a fart, you've been holding your fart for an hour hurting your stomach for no reason....
Of course we need to go to best buy for an adapter after the restaurant, with parking and shopping and paying it's a good hour and half I'm looking at till I get to a toilet....I was very close to throwing the dice and letting the chips fall where they may but something told me to wait.
I listened. I waited.

I gambled correctly. Disaster averted. Would have been a massive, massive mistake.

That was my day.

It's Montreal, man. You'll end up bumping in to her soon enough. Her best friend/brother/neighbour probably knows one your circle.

Hell, her best friend/brother/neighbour might even know me...
