Mastering?

I'm looking to put an album together from a variety of different sources. Some songs are in 24-bit format, some are regular audio files, and in some cases, the only existing copies are mp3's due to lost/destroyed tapes, etc...

Is it possible to make a cohesive record from these different formats? Will the mastering engineer scoff at mastering from an mp3 file? Is it even do-able in the first place? Will there be any room to EQ from these files?

thanks.

it's not ideal but it can be done. if the mp3s are 192 or higher it's not too bad, anything below that can sound pretty whack, but if it's the only copy than what are you going to do? it's better to have something rather than nothing.

Carl Saff is the chief boot knocka. He can make it seamless for you.

Wow. The price is right, that's for sure. Thanks.
