He has recorded some records that I count among the best ones I own. I really love "Joya" and think that's an underrated one.
When he released "Ease down The road" I did an interview with him and we discussed American politics, French folk music and what makes a genuine artist, it was uite an interesting conversation, especially the part where he got up during one of his sentences, took a leather cushion from the hotel room sofa, smashed it to the wall and sat back down on his chair, all the while continuing to answer my question.
A month or so later I saw him play, it was the German tour with both Matt Sweeney and Pajo in the band and they played a long, long show that took it's main influence from Lynyrd Skynyrd and was a total blast.

At various points during that time I talked to the promoter guy of his label and I'd have to say that he had me feeling pretty relieved I don't have to work with Mr. Oldham. (Or Chan Marshall, for that matter...)

Years ago I bought the 7" of Ohio Riverboat Song. It is without a doubt one of most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Then I bought an album (Arise Therefore?) and was bored to tears. So I decided to leave my relationship with Will Oldham at one perfect song. Maybe I'll try him again someday and feel an idiot for wasting years of my life not listening to him.

He was pacing back and forth, waiting for an autoharp to arrive by Federal Express. Then, after it had come and he was ready to leave for real, he darted back into the house and grabbed a 'How to Teach Yourself the Autoharp' book off of his coffee table and tossed it into his bag."

i'd like to change my vote from not crap to not crap

Absolutely, comprehensively, entirely, enormously, facefuckingly NOT CRAP!

West Palm Beach!
Gulf Shores!
Come In!
Disorder!
The Weaker Soldier!
New Partner!
You will miss me when I burn!

He went to bed about a decade ago, or whenever he sold his soul to the bankers and the elites.
